2024 Thanksgiving Events
Over a Decade of Giving Thanks
For the second consecutive year, the Myles Singleton Foundation expanded its cherished Thanksgiving outreach to serve three local shelters. Building on our decade-long commitment since 2013 of serving two shelters, we're proud to have grown our impact by adding a third location to our annual tradition.
Our dedicated volunteers prepared and served traditional Thanksgiving feasts at Project Renewal, PADV Fulton, and PADV Gwinnett. Each meal featured golden-roasted turkey with rich gravy, sweet-tart cranberry sauce, savory stuffing, freshly baked cornbread muffins, and crisp green beans. Project Renewal and PADV Fulton enjoyed creamy mac & cheese, while PADV Gwinnett savored a delicious vegetarian broccoli casserole. To complete the meal, we served homestyle apple crisps and refreshing beverages.
The joy and appreciation expressed by the women, children, and staff at all three shelters reminded us why these moments of connection matter so much. Their heartfelt gratitude reinforces our commitment to serving our community and making holidays special for those who need it most.
We're thankful for another year of bringing people together through the simple power of a shared meal, and excited to continue growing our reach in the years to come.
Project Renewal
Music, Hope and Holiday Cheer
The Myles Singleton Foundation's Thanksgiving celebration at Project Renewal transformed into an unforgettable evening of inspiration, thanks to special guest gospel rapper 1ne Chance. Beyond his electrifying performance, 1ne Chance shared his powerful personal journey, touching hearts and lifting spirits throughout the shelter. His message of perseverance and hope resonated deeply with everyone present, creating an atmosphere of joy and possibility.
The spirit of giving was made even more special through the generosity of our community partners. Lanterns Way provided thoughtfully curated gift bags for all our guests:
For the women:
Cozy plush blankets for comfort
Essential personal care items
For the children:
Creative activity sets with coloring books and crayons
Personal care items
Additionally, the women received two special gifts to carry into the new year:
Weekly planners, generously sponsored by Peach State Federal Credit Union
Inspirational keychains from the Myles Singleton Foundation
The evening exemplified what makes our community so special—coming together to share not just meals, but moments of genuine connection and inspiration. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to 1ne Chance for showing us that with faith and determination, every challenge can indeed become a stepping stone to something greater.
Together, we're building more than just holiday memories; we're fostering hope that lasts well beyond the season.
PADV Fulton
Our Thanksgiving Turkey Tradition Returns! 🦃❤️
The Myles Singleton Foundation's Thanksgiving celebration at PADV Fulton brought back a cherished tradition that filled hearts with warmth and gratitude. Children at the shelter embraced their creativity through our "What I'm Thankful for Turkeys" activity, crafting colorful expressions of gratitude that transformed the room into a gallery of hope and appreciation. As each child shared their thanksgiving wishes, their genuine joy and optimism touched everyone present.
The afternoon continued with a special story time session led by MSF's Executive Director, Shannon Singleton. She delighted the young audience with readings from her own book, "Tickle Me Mommy!" and treated them to the beloved Creole classic, "Cajun Night Before Christmas." The children's eager engagement and bright smiles during the readings created moments of pure magic.

Stories, Crafts, and Holiday Spirit
The Myles Singleton Foundation's Thanksgiving celebration at PADV Gwinnett became a festival of creativity and storytelling that brought smiles to every face. The afternoon began with children crafting colorful turkey hats inspired by Shannon Singleton's book "Tickle Me Mommy!", setting a playful tone for what would become a memorable day of connection and joy.
MSF's Executive Director, Shannon Singleton, then led an enchanting storytime session, sharing three special books with the children. She delighted the young audience with two of her own works—"Tickle Me Mommy!" and "Quit Following Me!"—bringing her stories to life with animated readings. The session concluded with "The Advent Book," a beautiful pop-up book that told the story of Jesus' birth, captivating the children with its intricate illustrations and meaningful message.
Reflecting on the day's events, Shannon shared a heartfelt observation: "There's something truly magical about witnessing smiles and laughter echoing through our events. While we understand that the women and children have faced significant challenges, it's deeply meaningful to see them finding moments of genuine joy. At the Myles Singleton Foundation, we're honored to be even a small part of their journey toward healing and hope. Being present for these precious moments of connection reminds us that sometimes the simplest gestures—sharing a meal, a story, or a smile—can build hope for a brighter tomorrow."
