MSF was honored to host another Thanksgiving event for Partners Against Domestic Violence (PADV). This year, the foundation cooked turkey, broccoli casserole, cabbage, cornbread dressing and sweet potato soufflé for dessert along with drinks. A Vegan version of the menu was also included this year. Special thanks goes out to Elizabeth Ruc-House for making the sweet potato soufflé! MSF delivered 120 meals to both shelters.
The organization partnered again with Lantern’s Way (formerly Precious Purses of Power) to provide 50 bags of toiletries to the women. The bags contained soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, hand sanitizer, chap stick, masks, deodorant, wash cloths, facial tissue, lotion and sanitary napkins as well as 2022 weekly planners and inspirational word puzzles from MSF. Kristin Love, Linda Bynum and Brittney Douglas founded Lantern’s Way to help guide battered women to the right resources. This includes leaving the abusive home to finding their own place.
To ensure everyone’s safety due to COVID the same protocol was used as the 2020 event. The meals and bags were dropped off. PADV advised the women and children were very excited and appreciative of the food and gifts. MSF looks forward to hopefully having a full event in 2022!
